This course combines the fundamental and basic skills necessary for combat marksmanship with the tactical knowledge required to survive with a shotgun in a hostile environment. This is the first level of Tactical Firearms Academy’s shotgun courses. Emphasis is placed on the basic shooting skills and developing tactical applications for those skills.
PREREQUISITE – You must have passed the “Learning the Shotgun” course before enrolling in this class.
Topics covered are:
Safety- Administrative, range and operation carry
Proper Loading Techniques
Stance & Mount
Patterning at 3,7,10,15,20,25 yds.
Target acquisition (single and multiple threats)
Transition to handgun
Shooting on the move
CSTC qualification (Criminal Justice Standard &
Training Commission Shotgun qualifier)
The course consists of nine hours of live fire training on an outdoor range. 300 rds birdshot, 30rds 00 buck, 15 slug rds.
